GRRRR palay season na

Hello every body So palay (Or rice in English,) season just started so every one is in the field so things have been slow but we keep working.
Monday we shopped got the stuff done that we needed to get done done in the evening we had our FHE canceled that we were supposed to go to so we just kinda chilled for the day because this was the second week in a row that we had gotten over 54 hours proselyting so ya long week.
Tuesday, we went to the barangay called Samingan. We got there and the first person we were supposed to visit was sleeping. We then walked for a few kiloliters and found another barangay that was supper far away this was hard because there was no one home every one was out in the bukid or at school, so ya. Then in the evening we returned and found that sister Jessica the person we were supposed to visit earlier was there and was happy to see us and that we had returned. We shared a great lesson about sharing the gospel and got a great referral from her. We then tried to visit some of the less active members there (a family) only to find out they were in the hospital because of the sickness of the dad. So we started walking back and finding people this was slightly hard because most people who go to the field come from the field and start drinking so it was hard but then there was a point where both of us were thirsty and were out of water so we stopped at a Tindahan and got a soft drink and started talking with the people who were there and it turned one used to work for a member so it was a great opportunity he was interested so we arraigned to come back.
Wednesday we had zone conference and got to meet the new mission president. He is great one of the first things he said was that "there are no big changes right now" I love him already for so many reasons he is so nice and great. Then after words president approved splits so my companion could help another companion so I went and worked in Santa Maria again, in the evening we returned to our area.
Thursday We went out to Parparaya and found that all of the people were in the field in Paprapraya so we went to the next barangay, Banglayan and found several potential people We then tried to visit sister Joana and April. Sister April was the only one there but her older brother was there so we were able to share but she has unfortunately lost almost all interest in us I'm not sure if its because of the things her religion is telling her or for other reasons so we are going to try having the sisters visit her again and see how things go. We then went to one of our interested family the Banyo family and had a great lesson with them about how the book of Mormon will bless our life and family.
Friday we went out to Santa with bishop and visited brother Viliaruz the member that we visited last week in the beautiful Santa (no not the man with a big red suit beard and a stomach like a bowl full of jelly the municipality.) We wad a great lesson, bishop helped so much and we are supper exited to return there. Bishop had some great suggestions for us. Then we went and visited sister Jenalyn and her older brother  and had a great lesson about how the gospel of Jesus Christ can help you in your life.
Saturday We went out and visited sister Scarlet and had a great lesson with her using the Come Follow Me. We then went and taught the Halog family about the family, Gods Plan, and the Godhead they were supper receptive and liked the message and accepted a return appointment we then went and visited a few other people briefly then went home.
Sunday we had a great sacrament meting about becoming instruments in the hand of the Lord, it was a great meeting. After that went and tried to visit some people and a bunch of the people we were supposed to be visiting were in the field, so we went to another area and visited some of the people we found there and had a great lesson about the Plan of Salvation because they had had a nephew die recently. They really liked the message and accepted a return appointment.
Now today we went out to Pinsal falls again. Then we returned and are emailing so things are pretty good even though the work is hard its great.
My spiritual thought this week comes from the Come Follow Me for last week in Acts 9
3 And as he journeyed, he came near Damascus: and suddenly there shined round about him a alight from heaven:
4 And he fell to the earth, and heard a voice saying unto him, Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me?
5 And he said, Who art thou, Lord? And the Lord said, I am Jesus whom thou persecutest: it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks.
6 And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
Now the thing that happened to  to Saul (Paul) was great amazing and a miracle but we shouldn't need for something the great to happen for us to ask "Lord what wilt tho have me to do" We should just want to do the will of the Lord and that should be the questions that we ask him therefore this is my invitation to ask through prayer as to what you should do to do what he wants us to do.
Thank you all for all your love and support.
Elder Davis
At the falls again with a new companion since he hasn't been there before. More water was there this time and it is SOOOO beautiful.

Saying goodbye to President

Building a house for a family. They used hollow blocks, and "cement" and one wall out of bamboo.

The floor is made out of cement. The house would fit in our entire living room.

A carabao ate my companions bike!!!!

Hello everyone this week was so crazy and yes you will hear about this carabao thing but that's later on.
Monday we went to Candone for zone sports we had fun with chair soccer then came back to Santamaria emailed and went and got some stuff for our bikes then went back to Narvacan got our hair cut then shopped and went home, cleaned the apartment, and fixed my companions bike.
Tuesday we had district counsel in Narvacan and I gave the workshop about helping people make and keep  commitments. This went well. We then had lunch and went home to plan and prepare for the day. We went out to Parparaya. Unfortunately the people we wanted to visit weren't there so we went out and did some finding. We found several people who were supper receptive and had lots of questions so we had a great lesson with them and we look forward to returning to visit them again. We then went and tried to visit sister April and Joanna the recent convert of the sisters and the on solid person with a baptismal date, but because they hadn't kept there commitments again, we told them we would return on Sunday if they kept there commitment. We then went and visited the Banyo family. Nanay had started reading and they all were supper receptive we had a great lesson with the whole family about the blessings of reading and praying they committed to read and pray about the Book of Mormon. Then as we went to leave we found that someone had moved our bike to the other side of the tree we had locked our bikes. We quickly found out why the Carabao that was close to the tree that we thought couldn't reach our bikes, or if it could it wouldn't do anything to the bike, had started to eat the cable that controlled my companions front gear changer therefore his front gear was on the very bottom gear and wouldn't go up. So ya his already Frankenstein bike was now dead.
Wednesday we went to Candone and started our exchanges with the zone leaders. This was cool I got to go and work in Candon. I got great opportunities to help resolve concerns, then in the evening we went and visited an eternal investigator (because of the Word Of Wisdom). As we walked up he was drunk and he was like elders kill me you kill me I have something to give you kill me. Then when went to leave he was hugging us over and over again until we finally dragged ourselves away to leave.
Thursday we went to Narvacan to close our exchanges. This was good, in the afternoon we went out into Dasay. We went out and just did findings this was great we ended up finding several past investigators. Sister Edith was an old interested person who we can't figure out why she was dropped because she was supper interested. Then sister Kimberly was supper interested too so it was great. We know we will be returning to them. We also did lots of finding and had lots of interested people that liked the message we shared about the restoration, about the blessings for the family and how our loving Heavenly Father does everything to help us so it was great, because they were interested and wanted us to return. So we will be requesting this to see what is required.
Friday We had a district attack and went and did a tone of findings in one of the areas of the sisters this was great we were able to help them, and see lots of interested people. Then in the afternoon we went out to an another municipality called Santa on special assignment from bishop to visit one of the members brother Lestor. We went out there and the area was beautiful in order to get the barangay they live in is on an island surrounded by  an island and the ocean so we had to cross an unfinished bridge then hop another trike to get there. It was great. The lesson with him was great his wife turned out to be not a member but she wanted her family to become one religion and was supper receptive. The member had lived in a big city before and had been two blocks away before, and so he and his full family had gone to church and been taught as a family. The mom had been supper close to baptism but then they moved. So we have another lesson  set up and they are exited for us to come and visit them again. We then went home and got home about 7:30. Both me and my companion look at each other and started talking about possibility of having a group there because there are so many people who were supper interested but things are just so far
Saturday we had a csp in the morning helping build a carport for the second counselor in the stake presidency. Then we went out and picked up the Assistant of the president for his last Sunday and then visited a family he was close to.
Sunday we had a great lesson in Sunday school about the gospel of Jesus Christ. Then in the afternoon we spent the day with a member triking around visiting the people that Elder Davies, the assistant that was here, so we had a great day and got fed twice giant lunches so we felt almost sick. Then in the evening went to visit Sister Joana and April and had a great lesson with them. Mostly just her asking questions about things she had read in the Bible. So this was great.
So all and all we had an okay week even though things were were good even though things are hard.
This week my spiritual thought comes from 1 Nephi 4 verse 20-22

20 And after I had done this, I went forth unto the treasury of Laban. And as I went forth towards the treasury of Laban, behold, I saw the servant of Laban who had the keys of the treasury. And I commanded him in the voice of Laban, that he should go with me into the treasury.
21 And he supposed me to be his master, Laban, for he beheld the garments and also the sword girded about my loins.
22 And he spake unto me concerning the elders of the Jews, he knowing that his master, Laban, had been out by night among them.
Just as the servant of Laban thought that Nephi was Laban others with think we are something or someone or a type of person by what we "wear" and by that I mean what we do and what we say there for we should strive to have the right "clothes." therefore my invitation for you all is to do things that will help you suit the right "clothing"  strive to be an example so that people will see you in the way that our Heavenly Father wants us to be here.
Thank you for all of your love and support

Inspecting the eaten bike!

Chew marks on the bike... (p.s. Mom thought a Carabao was a dog... She thought I was using a Tagalog word she didn't know.... because she did't know that a Carabao is a water buffalo that is common here and it was just tied up in the persons yard. Which is also common here. When she told me this when we got to talk I laughed pretty hard!)

CSP Open barangays lahat sa isang lingo

Hello Every one this week has been a bit of an odd week with a little
bit of this a little bit of that we just have been trying to get it
all done all in one week so ya.
Monday We pick up the new sister in the area Sister Cabigou she
was exited to be here and so after that we went and got some of the
things that we needed to do on p-day like shopping and laundry and all
the good things. Then in the evening we went and visited the Mello
family one of the less active family's here. We had a great lesson
about the family and how the gospel can bless family's It was really
good lesson and they really liked it so ya all was good. We then
visited another family and got some referrals it was good and also set
up an appointment to work with the member so all was good.
Tuesday we went to Candone and had our district council meeting.
This was really good afterwords we finally clarified the boundary's of
the two areas in Narvacan so that way we could actually proselyte
without worrying about who's area is this. Unfortunately in doing
such we gave the sisters two of the solid people that we had but to be
honest it probably will be better for them, with the sisters because
they will be more able to teach more easily and the sisters will
probably progress more. So ya. That day we went and visited those
people and explained to them that we wouldn't be visiting them any
more but that a pair of sisters would be. We had a great lesson with
sister May Ann about the Book of Mormon and about how it can guide us
help us in our life as well as about baptism. She unfortunately said
that she wouldn't accept the invitation to be baptized now because she
didn't feel ready yet but that she would keep reading the Book of
Mormon and going to church when she can she is supper solid and I look
forward to seeing how she progresses under the careful eye of the
sisters. Then in the evening we had a great lesson with sister Hana.
This lesson was a great lesson about the commandments and the
blessings of keeping the commandments we shared the verse in Mosiah 2:41
And moreover, I would desire that ye should consider on the blessed
and happy state of those that keep the commandments of God. For
behold, they are blessed in all things, both temporal and spiritual;
and if they hold out faithful to the end they are received into
heaven, that thereby they may dwell with God in a state of
never-ending happiness. O remember, remember that these things are
true; for the Lord God hath spoken it. She was supper receptive liked
it and agreed to proceed to try to prepare for baptism   So that was
great I am supper exited to also see here progress under the careful
eye of the sisters.
Wednesday we had CSP. We went to a members house and helped
prepare their rice to be planted. The rice had sprouted and we were
pulling them up to spread them out for the growing So this was fun.
After the  Csp  We went and visited some of the findings we had done
in Orence . We had a drunk tractor driver walk up demanding money from
the people who we were talking with so we quickly was like thank you
maybe we'll try to visit you again another day. So ya it was a rough
day
Thursday We went into a new barangay called Sucoc. Here we had
lots of really good first lessons with several people that I am supper
exited to get to return to.
Friday we went out to two new barangay called Nanguneg and
Cagayungan both are supper hard areas and we didn't have very many
people talk to us so ya.
Satuday we started out the day with no water so we had to wait to
shower so it was a weird day. Then in the afternoon we went out to a
new barangay called San Pedro. We get out there and see a Giant
Inglesia ni Cristo church this was a little shocking but  we were like
ok we'll keep working we work before the church and had a really good
lesson with a person and it was great. we then decided to keep going
and the moment we passed the church the spirit was like you shouldn't
be here. so we left quickly that was interesting. We then went to
Orence and tried to visit people. Then in the evening for dinner we
went to bishops house.
Sunday we had a good lesson with Joana the recent convert and her
sister this was a really good lesson so ya.
This week my spiritual thought comes from 1 Nephi 2 19
And it came to pass that the Lord spake unto me, saying: Blessed art
thou, Nephi, because of thy faith, for thou hast sought me
diligently, with lowliness of heart.
20 And inasmuch as ye shall keep my commandments, ye shall prosper,
and shall be led to a land of promise; yea, even a land which I have
prepared for you; yea, a land which is choice above all other lands.
So this week my invitation for you all is to seek the faith you need
to be able to do all things and to receive the blessings promised in
the verses here.
Thank you all for your love and support
