Sunday, June 17th 2018: We had spent the day before at the lake and hadn't checked the mail and Sunday Morning I sent a kid to the mail box "just in case" it came. Sure enough Hayden came in the door yelling "LOOK WHAT CAME!" It was Father's day! We had planned to go to Grandma and Grandpa's house with the whole family to celebrate Father's day so Ethan decided to wait until dinner to open the letter.
Ethan opened it just before we sat down to dinner surrounded by family. We were all so excited to hear him say those words we had been waiting to hear since he was very little... "Dear Elder Davis you have been called to serve... Philippines Baguio mission speaking Tagalog. (We didn't know how to pronounce the city or the language, but luckily my Brother in Law Todd is 1/2 Filipino and could help us out!) He didn't report to the MTC until August 22nd so we filled the few weeks we had with preparation and fun. Starting off with a trip to the temple and family pictures.
